Project - Traffic Separation Scheme
India has a vast coast line which is witnessing ever increasing traffic density. Various efforts are being made by the concerned Maritime authorities to streamline this traffic along the coast both for reasons of Security as well as for curtailing navigational accidents. For this various TSS have been implemented on the Indian coast after approval from IMO. Several works are in progress under the aegis of MoS and DGS in compliance with our NMDP, Sagar Mala project etc.
A need was felt to review 'TSS and VTS reporting system for Bombay & JNPT harbour' and also establish a TSS around Lakshadweep & Minicoy islands. In broader perspective all this is being taken up under Traffic Laneing on the West Coast of India.
Capt. Prabhat Nigam represents CMMI for all tasks involving the TSS in these areas when being deliberated by DGS in the Committee for the Traffic Separation Scheme.
His Extra Master dissertation is on "TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON WEST COAST OF INDIA INCLUDING TRAFFIC SEPARATION SCHEME".
